Next tuesday (1st Feb), an animation I did is going to be on television! It is part of a documentary called “The Children Who Built Victorian Britain” on BBC4, 9pm. There are lots of animated sections in the documentary, most of which have been done by either current students or recent graduates from Newport Uni. There is a huge range of styles and it’s a really interesting watch.
I has so far been made pick of the day by the Radio Times and Radio 4 are running a feature on it too. It is all very exciting!
My section comes in the second half, the testimony of Sarah Carpenter. It is a bit of a departure from my usual style, being animated totally in ink, but I am really happy with how it worked out and people seem to like it too. We got a chance to watch it a while back at uni and we got to meet the presenter and the director and producer, who we worked closely with. It was a really cool experience.
There is a page on the BBC website about it if anyone is interested in taking a look. All the animations have been posted on there for promo purposes so go have a look :).
